THUMBTHING CREATIVE

Just by using your fingers and thumb, you can make wonderfully creative stationary, note cards, and more! Follow these easy directions and with a little imagination, you can make all sorts of wonderful creations to use yourself, or to give as gifts!

1. You will need sheets of regular copy paper. You can actually use just about any paper that you'd like! It IS best to make sure that it is either white, off-white, or light in color. You may use the whole sheet of paper, but for lovely stationary sheets or note cards, you will want to cut the full sheet in half. Then you may use the full half-sheets, or fold those in half to make note cards. You can also use a light-weight card stock for greeting cards.

2. You will also need your fingers, thumb and an ink pad. You can use just about any color, but black does not work because the details that you will draw on your prints later will not show! Try to use lighter colors or a medium blue. You will also need dark colored markers. Black, of course is the best. Then push your finger or thumb firmly into the ink pad to make sure that your finger tip is covered heavily with ink. Then make a fingerprint on your paper. You will need a marker, preferably with a fine point tip. Look at your finger or thumb print and decide what you might want to make it into.

3. With your marker, add ears, mouths, noses, legs, tails, little feet, fins, or whatever you need to make your creative Thumbthing! Let your imagination soar! What you might want to do is put lots of prints on a sheet of paper. Some can be sideways too. Then look at each print and decide what you would like to do with it! That's it. It's as easy as that!

Here are some examples of things that you can create out of finger and thumb prints!

You can also make great stickers using blank ovals, circles and square stickers or self adhesive labels that can be found at stationary or office supply stores.
